Grandma Turns 91

My grandma just keeps on kicking. And we're grateful for every moment we get with her. Here we are at Sego Lily Cafe celebrating her 91st Birthday.

After a yummy lunch we drove out the Cheesecake Factory and spilt some cheescake. Delicious!

Many thanks to Collin and his dad for building this. I LOVE it. Collin and I spend every evening out here. It's even nicer at night when we turn on the christmas lights we hung up just under the eaves. I read while Collin strums his guitar. Or we just watch the sun go down. It's a great way to end the day.

Two More Weddings

My high school friend Eric got married. I didn't get a pic of them.

But here is the next best thing. My beautiful cousin Becky got married today. Isn't she gorgeous?

Here she is with me and my cute pregnant sister (it's a girl!) Jenn.

Fish Lake

Collin's family has been fishing Fish Lake pretty much forever. Here is wishing we were still there. Sorry, no HUGE fish to report this year.

(We took a lot more pics last year...)

Everything is Coming Up Turquoise

Turquoise is awesome. I taped some turquoise ribbon to my chocolate colored lamps.

Before I make a more permanent commitment and whip out my glue gun what do you think?

Will Someone Help Me Down?

I don't have anything to post about. I'm just sick of seeing that last post and would like to step off the soapbox.

What Do You Do With Your Leftover Turquoise Paint?

What else would benefit from a little touch of turquoise?

Felix and Cordelia

I found these two at a consignment shop for $7.00 and instantly fell in love with them. I've been looking for something like them since I saw Ariel had one in her house (credit where credit is due). And since my grandma is still kickin' and using her figurines I bought these (I'm sure they were once owned by somebodies grandma). Anyway, I wanted to blog about them yesterday but decided to wait until I named them. I chose Felix because it's my 5th favorite boy name and having 5 kids let alone 5 boys just doesn't look like it's in the cards. And Anne (with and "e") fans will recognize the name Cordelia. I've even made up a whole Jane Austen inspired back story in my head of how they met and fell in love. As you can imagine it's a drawn out story full of walks through the parlor (I'm now calling my living room the parlor), misunderstanding, and a wait-until-the-last-page betrothal. Luckily my favorite Jane Austen is Emma so it's not a depressing story.
And now I want to play a waltz. Does anyone have any super easy waltz sheet music?

Knob Therapy.

Boring old black knob. Awesome new colorful knob. Much better.

P.S. The Help was awesome. Everyone should read it.

Smell that?

If this picture was scratch n' sniff it would smell like spring.* *Not responsible for any scratching damage done to your computer screen.

I ♥ New York

Did you know that according to Facebook I went to New York?

When I See a White Door I Want to Paint it Turquoise

I've always wanted to paint the inside of the back door. At first I wanted to paint it dark purple but that got shot down. So I suggested turquoise and to my surprise, he agreed! So now we have a turquoise back door. And I LOVE it.Collin would like to to add that he "reluctantly" agreed. And now he thinks it is "all right" and "different."

Moab.

-The first time I went to Moab I was about 8. I remember having A LOT of fun with my sister and driving my parents nuts. And losing my purple canteen. I still look for it every time I go.

-The second time I went to Moab I was 13. We went with my entire extended family and I rode down in a car with my cousin Melissa who slowed our WHOLE caravan of cars down. She wouldn't pass slow moving vehicles because she was afraid of getting hit by an oncoming semi truck. I also remember us all staying in this house we rented that was so ghetto. When my cousin Matt turned the AC on ants flew out of it.

-The third time I went I was 21. I went down with my brand new husband (we'd been married a month and half). This is my blog so you are going to get my version of the events. Collin told me to pack my stuff and leave it on the kitchen table so he could pack it into the truck. I wore pink pajama pants on the way down (best way to travel). We got there just fine. My bag? Left on the kitchen table. It's still a point of contention.

-The fourth time we went down I was 25 and it was pretty uneventful. I packed my own bags.

-The fifth time we went down was last week and it rained. I also lost my purple Lipsmackers (Hmm, purple, I am sensing a trend). We had a lot of fun, though. I posted more pics on Facebook (they download faster there, what can I say?)

Girls Night at Twi-lite

Desert Star Playhouse can be REALLY funny sometimes. Especially when it hits the nail on the head PERFECTLY as it did in the case of Twi-Lite: I Was a Teenage Vampire. Holy Hilarious! I loved laughing at it even as it made fun of me and the girls I love.

My wonderful mother-in-law Sharon and me. And these two crazy ladies who seem to follow me around everywhere I go. I think they are stalking me. Or maybe it's because one is my mom and the other is my sister and the love me. I had a great time! Let's do it again soon, ladies!
And to anyone else who wants to go, I'll go with you. It really was that fun.

I Stayed Up Past My Bedtime

Last night my friend Joy and I were waiting around for our other friend Kate to fly in from out of town for the weekend. To pass the time we went and saw The Young Victoria at the Broadway Theatre. What a sweet movie. It's the story of Queen Victoria and her courtship with Prince Albert. I loved it. After the movie we met up with Kate, her sister, and a few of her other friends. We managed to only take a few pictures, though. We laughed and talked until nearly 1 in the morning. I haven't stayed out that late since I can remember! Here we are around 11:30 or so. Don't you love our glossed over sleepy look? But Kate only gets a chance to visit about once a year so so we take what we can get. Love you Kate!
